PATNA: Bihar DGP-designate Abhyanand on Monday inaugurated the department of BSc Mathematics Honours at the Patna Women's College(PWC).
"Mathematics is not a subject but a language. It is a vehicle that carries our thoughts," Abhyanand said while appreciating the efforts of PWC management to start this course.
Patna University's dean, students welfare, Dr P K Poddar said that it largely depended on teachers to make mathematics interesting for the learners. "Students should take utmost advantage of the course," he said.
PWC decided to start this course as demand for it was increasing year after year. The decision was taken in June 2011, and the university's academic council approved the move in July this year. A total of 50 seats have been sanctioned for BSc Mathematics Honours.
"A total of 32 students have already taken admission to the course and only 18 seats are vacant," said principal Sister Doris D'Souza.

Great mentor Shree Abhayanand has rightly said that mathematics is a language. Infact it the language which nature speaks in and it is the scrpit in which God has keyed down nature and the whole universe.
